DEARBORN, Mich. – An active shooting situation is unfolding in Downtown Dearborn Thursday afternoon.
Michigan State Police are urging people to avoid the area of Michigan Avenue and Military Street, as the situation is ongoing and dangerous. Police have not publicly disclosed many details yet.
Dearborn police say the scene is contained at the Hampton Inn in the area. MSP said at 2:12 p.m. that there are still shots being fired by the suspect, and that the situation is extremely dangerous to the public. Police said at 3:15 p.m. that the scene remains very dangerous to the public, as the shooter is still a threat to the public from their position.
