After a lengthy delay, lottery officials announced the winning Powerball numbers for the Nov. 7, 2022, drawing and one person matched all the winning numbers.
The winning ticket was sold in California. The winner gets the $2.04 billion grand prize, and if they take the cash payout they’ll get an estimated $997.6 million lump sum.
Don’t throw away your tickets just yet though. Someone in Michigan has a ticket worth $1 million after they matched five numbers.
The Powerball drawing was scheduled for 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, but it was delayed due a lottery needing more time to complete security protocols.
“Powerball has stringent security requirements to protect the integrity of the game and remains committed to holding a drawing that gives all players a fair chance to win,” the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
