CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A $32.5 million resurfacing project has begun on I-94 in Macomb County and will take several months to complete.
An asphalt mill and resurface project will affect traffic on I-94 from 23 Mile Road to County Line Road in Chesterfield Township. Starting Monday, Feb. 13, both directions of I-94 will have only one lane open at M-19 through mid-May.

Officials say the project includes:
- bridge work at six different locations,
- traffic signal upgrades, and
- partial ramp reconstruction at the I-94 and M-19 interchange, and the I-94 and M-29 interchange.
The project is expected to be finished by late fall, officials said.
