ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. – Two people visiting Florida from Michigan were pulled from the water at St. Augustine Beach, according to reports.
Witnesses told WJXT that two swimmers were struggling and yelling for help at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
A group of surfers was able to get the woman to shore, but they could not reach the man in time. The current pulled him about a mile north along the beach and he was pulled from the water near a pier.
Witnesses said CPR was performed on the man until he was rushed to a hospital. Sources told WJXT that the man is on life support and the hospital is working to contact his family.
