DETROIT – Five people were injured in three separate shootings that happened within five minutes of each other this weekend in Detroit.
Police said the first shooting happened at 9:28 p.m. Saturday, July 1, near a liquor store on Wyoming Avenue. A person inside a newer white Dodge Durango fired a shot and struck a man in the hip, according to authorities.
The man is expected to be OK. Police have no further information about the suspected shooter.
Two minutes later, at 9:30 p.m., a man was shot at the intersection of Dexter Avenue and Whitney Street on the city’s west side.
Officials said the man drove himself to a nearby hospital for treatment. He’s expected to recover from his injuries.
At 9:31 p.m. Saturday, three people were hurt in a shooting on Lesure Street, according to police. They are all listed in serious or critical condition.
No additional details about the third shooting were revealed.
