CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A teenager from Macomb County is facing a possible life sentence after officials say he stole iPhones from a truck driver at gunpoint.

The robbery happened Jan. 13, 2023, in Clinton Township, according to authorities.

Myron Johnson, 19, of Eastpointe, is accused of confronting a truck driver who was delivering iPhones. Johnson showed the driver a handgun and demanded the packages, officials said.

The driver handed over the packages, and Johnson fled the scene, according to police.

On Tuesday, July 11, Johnson was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court on an armed robbery charge and a felony firearm violation.

The armed robbery charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison, and the felony firearm violation carries a penalty of two years in prison.

His next court date is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 24.

“Our community will never accept any acts of violence and intimidation,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said. “We stand united in our commitment to protect the safety and well-being of our residents. The defendant will face the appropriate legal consequences as we seek justice for the victim and send a strong message that armed robberies will not be tolerated.”
