2 teenage boys arrested in murder of 19-year-old in Port Huron

PORT HURON, Mich. – Two 15-year-old boys were arrested in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old man in Port Huron.

The shooting happened around 6 p..m Wednesday, July 12, in the 1300 block of Lapeer Avenue.

Officials said they went to the scene and found a 19-year-old Port Huron man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to McLaren Port Huron Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police spotted two 15-year-old boys from Detroit near the shooting scene, and they matched the description of the shooter and his accomplice, according to authorities. Both were taken into custody after a short foot chase.

Investigators searched the neighborhood and found a gun that might have been used in the shooting.
