It’s not every day a hot air balloon just lands in your backyard, but that’s what happened this week in Macomb County.
Video sent to Local 4 by Tony from Romeo (filmed by his wife, Kim) through the ClickOnDetroit HelpDesk shows a hot air balloon making a slow landing in the middle of a subdivision near 33 Mile Road and McKay on Thursday afternoon.
Tony said the balloon appeared to be having trouble on the west side of M-53. “Looked like he was giving it gas, but the flame wasn’t fully igniting. They went down low but were able to pop back up and make it over the expressway,” he said.
“I’ll tell you what, the guy who was flying that balloon is one heck of an amazing pilot. I have no idea how he was able to bring it thru the houses like that without hitting anything,” he added.
