Water at New Hudson campground deemed ‘unsafe for consumption’

Sun Outdoors Kensington Valley warns campers not to drink water

NEW HUDSON, Mich. – The water at the Sun Outdoors Kensington Valley campground in New Hudson has been deemed unsafe for consumption.

The campground made an announcement on Facebook on Friday, July 21, and said they are working with the health department to resolve the problem. The issue was detected during regular water testing. The campground has closed all public showers but did leave restrooms and running water/sinks open.

Multiple sources reached out to Local 4 and said E. Coli has been detected in the well water. Symptoms of an E. Coli infection vary from person to person but often include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea (often bloody), and vomiting.
