Residents have opportunity to share experiences, changes they’d like to see in neighborhoods in Detroit

City is working with groups to collect, analyze data

DETROIT – There is an opportunity for Detroit area residents to chime in and share experiences and thoughts on changes they would like to see in neighborhoods across the city.

The Neighborhood Vitality Index is allowing residents over the age of 18 to share perspectives on issues related to safety, schools, child care, illegal dumping, access to healthcare resources, and other quality-of-life life issues.

The city of Detroit is working with JFM Consulting Group, Data Driven Detroit, and Community Development Advocates of Detroit to collect and analyze the data.

Organizers hope the public’s perspectives could help lead to noticeable neighborhood changes.

“It’s important that we hear from residents directly so that investments are directly reflecting what the residents need,” said Jane Morgan, President of JFM Consulting Group.

Time is running out. The Neighborhood Vitality Index survey deadline is on Tuesday (Oct. 31).

Residents who fill out the Neighborhood Vitality Index by the deadline will receive a $25 gift card upon completing the survey.

Click here to access the survey, or call JFM Consulting Group at 313-290-0992.
