Michael Deshawn Altman-Tucker was convicted by a jury Tuesday, Oct. 24, after a nine-day trial.

According to authorities, Altman-Tucker was being removed from Dooley’s Tavern and struggling with employees on Feb. 26, 2022, when he pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, striking a bouncer several times.

A friend of Altman-Tucker was struck by a stray bullet. They suffered minor injuries.

The bouncer, a 36-year-old Warren man identified as Julius Bing, died from his injuries.

Dooley’s Tavern closed permanently shortly after the shooting. The decision was made by management and not facilitated by authorities.

A Macomb County jury found Altman-Tucker guilty of second-degree murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and two counts of felony firearm.

Altman-Tucker faces the possibility of life in prison. He is expected to be sentenced Dec. 6.
