Mount Clemens man faces attempted murder charge after stabbing neighbor, moped tires

Victim expected to be OK

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A 60-year-old man in Mount Clemens is accused of attempted murder after reportedly stabbing a 53-year-old neighbor with a pocket knife Friday, Nov. 3.

According to authorities, the incident happened near the intersection of Cass Avenue and Cherry Streets just before 6:30 p.m. The sheriff’s office said the victim approached Mark Wallace, who was using a grill in the common area of the apartment complex, and the two began to argue. Video from the scene captures what appears to be the victim kicking over the grill and Wallace stabbing the tires on the victim’s moped before reportedly stabbing the victim twice.

Authorities said a pocketknife was recovered from Wallace’s apartment. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.

Wallace was arranged on charges of assault with intent to murder and malicious destruction of property. He was given a $50,000, no 10% cash/surety bond.
