Traffic crashes, fatalities rose in Metro Detroit last year

The number of car crashes in Southeast Michigan increased from 2021 to 2022, but remains lower than pre-pandemic numbers, according to the latest annual report put out by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments.

The annual report breaks down the number of crashes that occurred in the region in 2022, in addition to cause factors, fatalities, injuries, and more. The data is then compared to traffic crash data over the past 10 years.

Samantha Woll case: Everything we know about the murder, new charges

Charges have been handed down in the Samantha Woll murder case nearly two months after the Detroit synagogue president was killed outside her home.

Woll, 40, was a well-known leader in Detroit’s Jewish community and the board president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue in Detroit.

Michigan woman brutally murdered in California identified after 42 years

A woman who was brutally murdered in San Diego, California, has been identified after 42 years as Elaine Armstrong from Michigan.

On Oct. 16, 1981, the remains of an unidentified woman were found behind an office supply shop in San Diego, California. She had been beaten, stabbed, and set on fire. Her purse was found near her remains, but her identification was unreadable due to fire damage.
