Man shot in southwest Detroit drives to police on side of I-75

Investigation is ongoing

DETROIT – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in southwest Detroit.

According to authorities, Michigan State Police troopers were working on a crash on southbound I-75 near Outer Drive just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, when a man pulled up and told them he had been shot.

The man was rushed to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police said the shooting happened on Longworth Street, near Vernor Highway and Lawndale Street.
