Karen Drew: What we forgot to mention about St. Clair Shores

We’re showing off Metro Detroit’s incredible neighborhoods

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – It’s been a few days since we broadcast live from St. Clair Shores for our new In Your Neighborhood series, and the comments are still coming in. I love a town where the people who live there just can’t stop talking about how special their community is!

---> In Your Neighborhood: Getting to know St. Clair Shores, why residents love it

I wanted to share a few comments and mentions that didn’t make the air during our St. Clair Shores coverage:

  • Rota Hofrichter told me: “I have lived in this community for 25 years. There is always something going on at the senior center, parks, library for people to enjoy.”
  • Mike Henry sent me a note saying:  “Have you stopped at Copper Hop on Mack?”
  • Matthew sent a Facebook message saying: “St. Clair Shores has great restaurants to eat at like Mike’s on the Water, HOOK, Zef’s Dockside Bar + Kitchen.” He also said we should check out the “downtown social district, St. Clair Shores farmers markets, and Wednesday night concerts at Veterans Memorial Park.”
  • Patty, a loyal WDIV viewer who encouraged our visit to her city, said: “Oh, please come back in January. We have the Aqua Freeze at Blossom Heath Park, food, fun, live music -- you name it!”

The residents here are so special, the community is vibrant, and the energy is off the charts. You can feel the buzz in the awesomeness that is St. Clair Shores. Thank you to everyone for your welcoming spirit!

We’ve been having so much fun showing off our local neighborhoods, and we’ll be back on road next year with our In Your Neighborhood series. Shoot me an email if you want us to visit your town. Be sure to include what makes your town unique, and some important issues in your neighborhood that need some exposure!

Happy holidays!
