The Detroit native was a graduate of Brother Rice High School and a student of Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills, where he took broadcasting, voice, and acting courses.
Calvert spent the last 45 years as a radio broadcaster and freelance voice-over announcer.
Of the 45 years, 16 were spent as the Public Address Announcer for the Detroit Pistons during the Bad Boys era in the 1980s.
