Man arrested after Christmas morning shooting in Warren hospitalizes 1

Victim remains in critical condition, police say

WARREN, Mich. – A 23-year-old man is in custody after police say he shot another man multiple times in a Warren home on Christmas morning.

Update: Man charged with attempted murder in Christmas shooting in Warren

The shooting happened at 10:20 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, in the area of 9 Mile and Hoover roads.

Warren police said the man was shot multiple during an argument between people at a Warren home. He was transported to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, police were watching people known to associate with the suspect. While investigating, they saw the suspect in the passenger seat of a vehicle driven by a woman.

Police stopped the vehicle in the area of 10 Mile Road and Lorraine Avenue in Center Line. The suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was transferred to the Warren Police Department.

Investigators believe the victim and suspect knew each other. The investigation is still underway. The case will be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
