Man reportedly fleeing Warren police dies in crash

Driver was only occupant of vehicle

A man reportedly died in a crash while fleeing Warren police. (WDIV)

WARREN, Mich. – A driver reportedly fleeing from Warren police died Tuesday, Dec. 26, after crashing into a box truck.

The crash happened at about noon near the intersection of 10 Mile and Ryan roads. Police said the driver sped off from a traffic stop when officers asked for identification and minutes later, the driver ignored a red light and crashed into an F-150 and a Penske truck.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

A handgun was reportedly recovered from the crashed vehicle.
