Man charged with attempted murder in Christmas shooting in Warren

Bond set at $1 million cash/surety only

WARREN, Mich. – A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Warren on Christmas morning.

Police said the shooting happened just before 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25, at a home near the intersection of 9 Mile and Hoover roads.

Deandre Lawrence was arraigned Wednesday, Dec. 27, on charges of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm.

He is accused of shooting a man multiple times during an argument. The victim survived but was critically injured.

Police said Lawrence has previous felony convictions out of Wayne and Macomb counties.

Lawrence’s bond was set at $1 million cash/surety only. If bond is posted, he is required to wear a GPS tether and not have contact with the victim.
