DETROIT – A $2,500 reward is being offered for information more than a year after a 36-year-old man was killed in a Detroit hit-and-run.
At about 1:44 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, Aziz Kassis, of Garden City, was outside and was struck by a burgundy Chevrolet Impala in the area of Lahser Road and Verne Avenue in northwest Detroit. Kassis died from his injuries.
The driver fled the scene, continuing on Lahser Road, officials said. Over the past year, police have yet to locate the Impala, which would have sustained windshield and possible front-end damage on the passenger side after hitting Kassis.
A video of the wanted vehicle can be seen below.
The Kassis family is still searching for answers in the hit-and-run crash that killed their beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Police have not yet named a suspect in the fatal crash.
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is now offering a reward up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. All tips made to Crime Stoppers are anonymous, even when a reward is involved.
Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up, or on their website right here. Rewards will be paid when an arrest is made. Crime Stoppers does not wait for a conviction to administer a reward.
