Macomb County woman to face trial for allegedly torturing boyfriend’s elderly mother

A Macomb County woman was bound over on charges related to allegations that she tortured and abused her boyfriend’s elderly mother earlier this year.

Laura Tisdelle, 40 of Sterling Heights, will face trial after being charged with torture (life felony), vulnerable adult abuse in the first degree (15 year felony), unlawful imprisonment (15 year felony), and domestic violence 3rd (five year felony) by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office back in June.

Investigators allege, back on June 21, 2023, Tisdelle’s boyfriend returned home after a five day trip and found his 80-year-old mother tied up and restrained to the bed. She appeared to be severely beaten and laying in her own feces.

Tisdelle was the sole caregiver for the victim in her Sterling Heights home, according to investigators.

Tisdelle’s next court date is Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Macomb County Circuit Court.
