2 cops, 3rd man hurt in Inkster crash

INKSTER, Mich. – Two officers and a third person were injured in a crash in Inkster, according to authorities.

The crash happened Friday, Dec. 29, at the intersection of Beech Daly Road and Norfolk Street.

Two officers were heading south on Beech Daly when another driver made a left turn into the oncoming police vehicle, officials said. Michigan State Police said the driver of the patrol car was traveling over the speed limit when they struck a northbound Toyota turning onto Norfolk Street.

The two officers, both men, were hurt in the crash. The driver of the other car was also injured. Authorities said all three people were wearing seatbelts at the time.

Police said this was not a chase.

Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.
