PONTIAC, Mich. – A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a string of burglaries and break-ins in Pontiac.
According to authorities, detectives with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office were able to link five commercial burglaries that have occurred since Dec. 26 to a single suspect. Authorities said they were targeted by one person with the same pattern of behavior.

The suspect would attempt to open cash registers before leaving the scene, which authorities said matched a string of burglaries from 2022.
Authorities said Freddie Harrison III, the man convicted for the 2022 burglaries, had been released from prison Dec. 22 and had reportedly absconded from parole Dec. 25.
An alert was issued to deputies and Harrison was taken into custody within 90 minutes.
The sheriff’s office said Harrison had stolen less than $500 from the string of burglaries, but the damage to the businesses is estimated to be more than $15,000.
Harrison was charged Friday, Dec. 29, with five counts of breaking and entering a building with intent. His bond was set at $5,000 cash/surety with GPS tether.
