Police find 6 cars, building struck by bullets in Royal Oak Township

Michigan State Police are investigating after finding several cars struck by bullets in Royal Oak Township on Thursday night.

Police said a neighbor contacted the Detroit Regional Communication Center, reporting they heard about 25 gun shots near the 21000 block of South Hart Place in Royal Oak Township around 7:25 p.m.

Troopers arrived on the scene and found six vehicles had been struck by bullets, along with the building. They also located numerous fired cartridge cases, of two different calibers, scattered around the parking lot and sidewalk.

Police said no injuries were reported.

A witness told MSP that a young male was spotted running from the scene, but no other information was made available.

“Fortunately, no one was hurt in this incident.” said MSP F/Lt Mike Shaw. “If you have any information on this incident, please call 855.MICH.TIP or Crime Stoppers at 800.SPEAK.UP. Any information you provide could help solve this investigation.”
