A store in Southeast Michigan will get a reward from the Michigan Lottery after selling the winning Powerball ticket worth $842 million.
Food Castle in Grand Blanc sold the big ticket to an unknown Michigan Lottery player for Monday night’s drawing. Monday’s $842.4 million jackpot is the fifth-largest Powerball jackpot ever won and the tenth-largest jackpot won in U.S. Lottery history.

Food Castle will get a $50,000 commission as a Michigan Lottery retailer, the lottery said on Tuesday.
Food Castle owner Bill Nannoshi told ABC12 that he hopes he knows the winner.
“Usually you hear stuff like that happening in different states, so it’s great,” Nannoshi said. “It’s great for this community. Grand Blanc is an awesome place to work and live in. Everybody’s like friends here, you know? Friends and family. So I’m hoping it’s one of them.”
The jackpot also is the second-largest Lottery jackpot ever won in Michigan. A $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot won in January 2021 holds the record for the largest jackpot won in Michigan.
