DETROIT – Metro Detroit realtor Jeff Glover has postponed his Matthew Stafford jersey swap event ahead of the Lions first home playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams inside Ford Field.
Glover, who owns Glover Agency Realtors, wanted to give away 1,000 new Lions jerseys in exchange for the 14-year veterans’ used, now retro, jersey.

In exchange, Glover said he would donate sed jerseys to homeless shelters needing clothing for adults and people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, California.
Glover Agency sent out a press release stating that his agency was prohibited from hosting the Detroit Lions jersey exchange at the request of the NFL.

Lions fans were going to have the opportunity to wear a brand new, on-field replica jersey bearing the name of a player that was currently on the team instead of paying homage to an opponent that is looking to eliminate their hometown team from the playoffs.
“While I can appreciate what Stafford has done for our city, as a fan myself, it drives me crazy to see so many Stafford jerseys still being worn by fans at our own games,” said Glover. “Imagine how you’d feel if you were our quarterback, looking out into the seats of Ford Field and seeing another QB’s jersey on hundreds, if not thousands of fans, especially one who’s still in the league and now competing against us!”
Before the event’s cancellation, Glover wanted to give fans who returned their gently used, freshly washed Stafford jerseys in exchange for a Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, or Aidan Hutchinson jersey.
“I purchased mostly Goff jerseys because we need to get behind the QB that is poised to take us all the way, and it just seemed right to trade QB for QB, although the first few hundred fans will get to pick from one of the three,” Glover said.
Glover continued:
“Since Stafford no longer plays in Detroit, my feeling was to get the traded-in jersey into the hands of those that would appreciate wearing their quarterback’s name on their back, assuming they are fans of the LA Rams. If they are not fans, I hope it at least makes someone’s day or night a little bit more comfortable.”
