Van Buren Township man killed in hit-and-run crash while crossing street, police say

Suspect vehicle possibly a black Toyota Camry

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 43-year-old Van Buren Township man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Canton Township.

Police said the crash happened before 10:38 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2024, in the area of West Michigan Avenue and I-275.

The 43-year-old Van Buren Township man was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The vehicle that struck him was not at the scene and has not been located. Police believe it is possibly a 2010 or 2011 black Toyota Camry

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Canton Township Police Department at 734-394-5400.
