Man accused of driving car into Howell bank after getting frustrated with ATM outside

HOWELL, Mich. – A 42-year-old man reportedly drove his vehicle into a Howell bank before Friday’s snowstorm.

According to authorities, it happened at about 9:30 a.m. at a Huntington Bank on Grand River Avenue, near Latson Road. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said the man became angry while attempting to use the bank’s drive-thru ATM, drove to the front of the bank and then intentionally drove through the front doors.

He fled on foot, leaving the vehicle.

Authorities said a witness followed him to a house on Latson Road, where deputies executed a search warrant later that afternoon. The man was taken into custody on malicious destruction of property charges.

No one was injured during the incident.
