Officials say on Nov. 21, 2023, the 56-year-old was convicted by a Macomb County Jury of ethnic intimidation and two other charges after a three-day trial.
On Monday, July 25, 2022, Mangiapane was at his business in Warren when the victim walked by on the sidewalk.

Mangiapane was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon (4-year felony), ethnic intimidation (2-year felony), and felony firearm (2-year mandatory felony).
“Today’s sentencing is a solemn reminder that our community rejects intolerance,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “We strive to build a society where every individual can live free from fear.”
