ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Police were working Sunday night on “developing probable cause” in an effort to identify and arrest a person accused of shooting a man at a popular Allen Park bowling alley.
Allen Park police said Sunday that they were releasing few details as investigators spoke with witnesses in hopes of identifying a shooter who injured a 34-year-old man on Saturday, Jan. 27. Officials said that at about 11:30 p.m. that day, the man was shot while at Thunderbowl Lanes on Allen Road south of Outer Drive.
Officers quickly arrived and administered aid before the man was taken to the hospital, a press release says. The man was initially listed in critical but stable condition.
In an update provided late Sunday, the police department said it had activated its newly formed Downriver Violent Crimes Task Force to help with the investigation. No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, but investigators were “speaking to witnesses and persons of interest,” and “developing probable cause to identify the shooter and obtain an arrest warrant.”
Police also reiterated that there is no believed threat to the public.
