Parents charged with multiple felony counts relating to child abuse in Pontiac

Witness provided evidence to warrant arrest

Parents from Pontiac have been charged with multiple felony counts relating to child abuse.

A detective from the Pontiac Division was assigned a child protective services law enforcement notification to investigate alleged sexual abuse of children perpetrated by parents within the home.

Sheriff’s investigators participated in multiple care house interviews with the victims; however, no specific details regarding the alleged abuse were disclosed.

Officials said on Tuesday (Jan. 23), detectives interviewed a witness to the crimes, and enough evidence was provided to warrant the arrest of the father, Patrick Bryan Henke, 44, in the 300 block of Cass Avenue in Pontiac.

The mother, Anna Marie Purdy, 33, of Pontiac, was interviewed by detectives and confirmed Henke perpetrated the alleged crimes.

After further investigation, detectives revealed that Purdy was an accessory to the abuse and was taken into custody without incident.

Patrick Bryan Henke was charged on Jan. 28 in Novi on the following charges issued by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office:

  • Criminal Sexual Conduct - 2nd degree
  • Child Abuse 2nd degree
  • Child Abuse 2nd degree
  • Child Abuse 2nd degree
  • Child Sexually Abuse Material - Aggravated Possession
  • Aggravated Indecent Exposure
  • Aggravated Indecent Exposure
  • Aggravated Indecent Exposure

His bond was set at $2 million cash/surety, no 10%. He is scheduled for a probable cause conference on Feb. 8 in Pontiac.

  • Child Abuse 2nd degree (Felony)
  • Child Abuse 2nd degree (Felony)
  • Child Abuse 2nd degree (Felony)
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor

Bond for Purdy was set at $500,000 cash/surety no 10%. Her next scheduled court appearance is for a probable cause conference on Feb. 8 in the 50th District Court.

“The cases that involve violating children are some of the more disgusting and important cases that we deal with,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “These individuals need to be held responsible, and the children need and deserve a nurturing environment to begin a healing process.”
