NEW HAVEN, Mich. – A 24-year-old man from New Haven was charged with manslaughter Wednesday, Jan. 31, in connection with the death of his teen brother.
According to authorities, it happened at a residence located near the intersection of 26 Mile and County Line roads in Lenox Township just after 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said emergency personnel were called to the scene on reports of a stabbing. Despite giving the victim CPR and medical aid, the 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The prosecutor said the victim was stabbed once by his brother after an altercation.
The suspect, Nathan Land, was taken into custody. He was charged Wednesday with one count of homicide -- manslaughter.
His bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety, no 10%. Land is to have no contact with witnesses and must wear a GPS tether if released.
