Port Huron police give ‘all clear’ after hourslong standoff with gunman
An hourslong standoff between a barricaded gunman and Port Huron police has come to an end.
Police issued an alert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, after a man barricaded himself in a home and fired several gunshots out of a home in the area of 12th and Chestnut streets.
The residents who live in the area were asked to shelter in place and avoid standing near doors and windows. The all-clear was given around 9 a.m.

Prosecutor appeals manslaughter charge against ex-Detroit police officer
Prosecutors have appealed the dismissal of a manslaughter charge against a former Detroit police officer accused of causing the death of a 71-year-old man by punching him in the face and causing him to fall to the ground.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office filed a claim of appeal Friday in the case against Juwan Brown, the office said in a news release.
