In Your Neighborhood: Getting to know Warren

WARREN, Mich.Local 4 News is getting out of the studio and hitting the road to be In Your Neighborhood! We’re showcasing what makes our communities great!

Despite being Michigan’s third-largest city, residents of Warren say it feels folksy.

“Everybody’s friendly,” said Les Kowalski. “I don’t think there’s a better place around!”

Many residents boast about how proud they are that auto manufacturing remains part of the pulse of the city -- the GM Tech Center is a major employer and a variety of auto part suppliers and dealers call the city home.

”If you’re going to have kids and raise a family, this is the place you want to be,” said Ron Laszczak.

That’s not all -- neighborhoods across Warren are growing, bringing more diversity, conveniences and options.

“Everything is pretty accessible,” said Patricia Schenk. “If I have a problem, I’ve got people I can talk to.”

According to the Macomb County Chamber, Eminem’s childhood home still draws crowds. Tourists are constantly driving by to see where the entertainer grew up.

And don’t skimp on Warren’s food scene. Residents say there’s a variety of local and international favorites for your taste buds.

”You can go anywhere from burger to steaks and filets,” said Les Kowalski. “You’ve got it all in this area.”

There are loads of options that make Warren a destination place in Metro Detroit for dining.
