Detroit man charged with 26 felonies for crimes involving armed robbery, home invasion, sexual assault

Further investigation revealed second suspect was involved

A Detroit man who lured a victim outside of his residence and violently assaulted him at gunpoint while also sexually assaulting a woman has been charged with 26 felonies.

The incident occurred on Saturday (Jan. 20) in the area of 8 Mile Road and Silver Spring Drive.

Officials say 29-year-old Detroit resident Javon Bryant Anderson forced the victim back into his residence, where he continued assaulting the victim.

Additionally, the 29-year-old sexually assaulted a woman who was also inside the home while holding the man and a 1-year-old child at gunpoint.

Further investigation revealed that the Northville Township Police Department identified a second suspect was involved.

The 26 charges that Anderson received include first-degree criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery, kidnapping, home invasion, assault less than murder, felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and felony firearm offenses.

Anderson’s bond was set at $500,000, and his next court date is Friday (Feb. 16).

The second suspect was arrested and transferred to federal custody to face federal weapons charges.
