Detroit Sports Commission puts on 3-day extravaganza in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII

NFL draft will be in Detroit from April 25-27

DETROIT – The countdown clock in Campus Martius has been up for so long that it’s hard to believe, but the NFL draft is on its way to Detroit on April 25-27.

After the Super Bowl this weekend, a veritable NFL army will descend on Detroit.

The Detroit Sports Commission, spearheading the event, is in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl.

“Everyone that comes by our booth, they were rooting for us,” said Detroit Sports Executive Director Dave Beachnau. “You know Dallas has been America’s team, but there’s no question about it after the past few weeks. Detroit is America’s team.”

There have been eyes on the Detroit Lions and Detroit all season, and it’s produced momentum for the draft.

The estimate is that hundreds of thousands of people will be downtown for the draft, which will have an enormous footprint.

It stretches from Campus Martius to Hart Plaza and includes Cadillac Square and the Monroe Street Midway.

There will be a ton of free events inside the footprint. Beachnau says if you want to go he recommends downloading the NFL Onepass app.

The events may be free but by registering in the app it will give you access to the footprint.
