FARMINGTON, Mich. – Local 4 News is getting out of the studio and hitting the road to be In Your Neighborhood! We’re showcasing what makes our communities great!
When residents heard Local 4 was coming to Farmington, they told us about a flower shop that has been family-owned since 1932. And the little red farmhouse it calls home has been around much longer.

It was an old farmhouse built in the 1800′s that is steeped in history. Henry Ford was friends with the original owners, who went antiquing with him. Springbrook Gardens Florist, now owned by Rick Hatfield, has seen updates, but the stream stone pillars, mood and atmosphere have been carefully preserved.
The business is filled with the careful hands of people who artfully craft for love more than money. They are shoulder-deep in Valentine’s Day flowers.
At 79 years old, there’s no sign of Rick Hatfield slowing down, even after four generations of customers have been calling him the flower guy.
