Teen killed in rollover crash in White Lake Township

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police in White Lake Township are investigating a crash that killed a teenager early Monday, Feb. 12.

According to authorities, police received a 911 call at about 4:30 a.m. regarding a rollover crash near the intersection of Cooley Lake Road and Long Lane.

Police said a small SUV had left the road, struck two cement pylons and a tree before rolling over. Medical aid was given to the lone occupant, a 19-year-old man from Commerce Township, who died at the scene.

The area was shut down for several hours because of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing. Police said they do not know if alcohol was a factor in the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact White Lake Township Police Det. Shawn Kidle at 248-698-4400.
