EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University held a remembrance gathering on the anniversary of the Feb. 13, 2023, mass shooting that left three students dead and five critically injured.
Hundreds of students and other members of the campus community clutched green luminaries as bells rang out honoring fallen classmates Brian Fraser, Arielle Anderson, and Alexandria Verner.
“I really appreciated MSU doing this for us students and having someplace for us to come together and remember Arielle, Brian, and Alexandria,” said MSU student Shelby Ginsburg.
Several tents were set up at the gathering, offering students a place to write down reflections, interact with therapy dogs, and seek support services.
“A lot of people were hugging each other, and even if you didn’t know anybody, you could still hug someone,” said student Jacob Catalina.
