Two search warrants for drugs in Eastpointe and Detroit by the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET), the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET), Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man.
Zerell Archie, who is from Eastpointe, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the distribution of large amounts of cocaine and oxycodone in Macomb and Wayne counties on Thursday (Feb. 15).

The following property was seized:
- Approximately 8 grams of crack cocaine
- 117 suspected fentanyl pills
- $1,033.00 in cash
- Mushrooms (psilocybin)
- Two rifles
- Five handguns
- Multiple loaded gun magazines and numerous boxes of ammunition
- Scales and packaging material
- Dodge Ram
Officials say most of the guns were loaded and unsecured before they were recovered from a property with five children, ages 14 to 11 months.
Police say the guns were throughout the property and easily accessible by the children.
Archie was arrested without incident and charged at the Macomb County jail.
The 29-year-old man was charged with:
- Controlled Substance - Delivery/manufacture cocaine – 20-year felony
- Controlled Substance - Delivery/manufacture oxycodone – 5-year felony
- Felony firearm – 2-year felony
- Controlled Substance - Possession of psilocybin – 1-year misdemeanor
- Child abuse – 4th Degree – 1-year misdemeanor
Archie’s bond was set at $75,000 with 10% cash/surety.
