Officials say while the Malibu was behind the victim, the driver noticed a laser light hit his interior near the rear-view mirror before pulling in front of them, hanging a pistol out of their window near Michigan Avenue.
The man said the driver put on a ski mask before passing him, which was when they noticed that the gun had a laser light attached to it.
MSP said they were able to use technology and the information of the victim providing information to describe what the driver looked like.
Troopers were able to locate the 32-year-old man from Taylor and arrest him. Police said they found a pistol with a laser light affixed to it.
During their investigation, officials said they found a 9mm magazine, one 16-round 9mm magazine, and body armor.
F/Lt Michael Shaw said, “This was outstanding work by troopers to get this dangerous suspect and his firearm off the street. I want to remind drivers to not engage with those drivers that appear to show signs of rage. Call 911 and let police deal with these drivers.”
