Police seek information on driver, vehicle involved in Keego Harbor intentional hit-and-run

Couple had dispute over service, food inside El Camino Restaurant

The Keego Harbor Police Department is seeking information regarding a driver and vehicle involved in an intentional hit-and-run of a pedestrian.

The incident occurred on Friday (Feb. 16) at 7:40 p.m. when the vehicle occupants, a white man and woman in their mid to late 50s, were inside El Camino Restaurant at 2807 Orchard Lake Road.

Officials say the couple had a dispute over the service and food and left the restaurant without paying their entire bill.

Police say they entered a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz, 4-door-sedan with a possible partial license #DY9003.

Officials say the couple started to drive away when a server from the restaurant ran out to confront them.

The server said the couple laughed at her when she told them they had to pay the rest of their bill.

Officials say the server made the vehicle stop as she stood in front of it, which caused the driver to back up and maneuver to drive around her.

The server said she placed herself in front of the vehicle again, but this time, the driver hit her with the car, knocking her to the ground and then running over her legs as they proceeded to flee southwestbound on Orchard Lake Road towards the city of Orchard Lake.

Police say the server was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital, where she is expected to recover.
