Troopers made contact with the female victim, who said that the man was driving aggressively, passing on the shoulder, and attempting to drive her off of the road before pointing a gun at her.
The woman called the police as the man shot at her through the open passenger window.
Officials say he then went around her, rolled down the driver’s window, and shot at her again before speeding off.
The woman described the man’s vehicle as an older model passenger car.
On Friday, the Freeway Investigative Support Team continued their investigation into the road rage shooting, and with the use of technology, detectives were able to develop a suspect.
The 23-year-old was arrested, and his vehicle was transported to Metro North Post.
“Great work by our FIST detectives and Metro North troopers to get this dangerous suspect off the street before he hurt someone. Remember, if you come across someone who can’t handle the responsibility of driving, do not engage with them and call 911.” said F/Lt Mike Shaw.
