House destroyed after apparent explosion on Detroit’s east side

No word on injuries yet

DETROIT – Emergency crews were responding to a house explosion on Detroit’s east side Tuesday afternoon.

The house was on the 18000 block of Barlow Street. The explosion happened around 3:15 p.m., and aerial video from Sky4 shows possible damage to houses next door.

The home appears to be completely destroyed. It’s unclear if anyone was in the home at the time of the explosion.
