A Roseville man was charged on eight counts in connection with an alleged domestic violence assault and fleeing police.
Allegedly, the incident occurred on Sunday (Feb. 25) when Gary Young was at his girlfriend’s residence in Sterling Heights, where he assaulted her and her teenage daughter.

Sterling Heights police were called, causing Young to flee.
Officials say they attempted a traffic stop where Young fled at a high rate of speed before crashing his car near Gratiot Avenue and I-94 and fleeing on foot against police commands.
Police say Young allegedly continued to resist officers until he was arrested.
Young was charged with the following:
Count 1: Fleeing police officer in the third degree (5-year felony)
Count 2: Assault with a dangerous weapon (4-year felony)
Count 3: Assaulting a police officer causing injury (4-year felony)
Count 4: Assaulting/resisting a police officer (2-year felony)
Count 5: Assaulting/Resisting a Police Officer (2-year felony)
Count 6: Domestic violence (93-day misdemeanor)
Count 7: Domestic violence (93-day misdemeanor)
Count 8: Operating while license suspended second offense (1-year misdemeanor)
Young was charged in Sterling Heights District Court, where bond was set at $15,000 cash/surety, 10%.
A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Thursday (March 7) at 1 p.m. and a preliminary exam is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 9 a.m.
“The actions of the defendant, who allegedly assaulted two women and endangered public safety by fleeing from law enforcement and assaulting officers in the process, will not go unpunished,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “We will vigorously pursue the full extent of the law to hold accountable those who show such blatant disregard for the safety and well-being of others.”
