Missing woman held against her will since 2017 found alive in Inkster motel

Victim called stepmother saying she was held against her will

INKSTER, Mich. – A woman who has been missing since 2017 has been found alive by Michigan State Police.

The woman was found on Monday (Feb. 26) by the Second District SIS detectives, who said they received a tip about her.

The caller said that her stepdaughter called her, and she was being held against her will at a motel in Inkster.

Officials say the investigation by SIS and Trafficking and Abduction Group (TAG) detectives were able to learn that the victim was being held at the Evergreen Motel in the 28473 block of Michigan Avenue.

Troopers from Metro South Post, along with detectives, responded to the motel where a girl was heard screaming and crying from a room, causing officials to make a forcible entry into the room to make a recovery.

Police said the woman was transported to Beaumont Dearborn for a medical evaluation and interview before being reunited with her family and was given other resources to help her recover.

A search warrant was conducted, and SIS seized drugs, cell phones, and a gun. A suspect was identified.
