Michigan Wolverines football legend rescues 80-year-old during locker room attack

Former Michigan Wolverines football legend Braylon Edwards rescued an 80-year-old man who was being assaulted inside a locker room at the YMCA in Farmington Hills.

The incident occurred on Friday (March 1) at the Farmington Family YMCA when a 25-year-old man was assaulting the 80-year-old man.

Edwards, who is being lauded as a Good Samaritan, said the man fought him as well as he tried to stop the assault.

$842M winning Powerball ticket still unclaimed in Michigan

A Michigan Lottery player won the Powerball jackpot in January and they still haven’t come forward to claim the prize.

The jackpot is the fifth-largest Powerball jackpot ever won and the tenth-largest jackpot win in U.S. Lottery history. It’s the second-largest Lottery jackpot ever won in Michigan.

Michigan awards $3.6M to projects fighting invasive species

Nearly three dozen projects aimed at fighting invasive species in Michigan will share $3.6 million in grant funding through the Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program.

The program is meant to help with the prevention, detection, eradication, and control of invasive species in the state. The state received 50 applications for grant funding this cycle and 31 programs were selected.

Several injured when vehicle crashes through Canton Township Walmart

Several people were injured when a car crashed through a Canton Township Walmart.

The vehicle crashed through the Ford Road Walmart in Canton Township at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, according to police.

“She was in the cart with another lady a I asked if it was it her baby, she said no, so I picked her up and called for help,” said Lisa Iller.
