Police continue to investigate after car crashes through Canton Township Walmart

Everyone injured in crash expected to be OK

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Everyone who was injured when a car crashed through a Canton Township Walmart is being treated or has been released from the hospital.

A car crashed through the Ford Road Walmart in Canton Township at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, according to police.

Police said five people were transported to area hospitals, including the driver of the vehicle. Three more people were checked for injuries by paramedics at the scene of the crash but they declined medical treatment.

Police said Walmart staff and shoppers helped the injured immediately after the crash and their “quick actions to provide aid” are appreciated.

The crash is under investigation and the information will be handed over to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office to review for possible charges.
