22-year-old killed in Harrison Township motorcycle crash

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 22-year-old from Chesterfield Township was killed Monday, March 4, in a motorcycle crash in Macomb County.

According to authorities, the crash happened on South River Road, near Hamon Street, in Harrison Township at about 7 p.m. The sheriff’s office said they received reports of a motorcyclist driving recklessly, speeding and weaving in and out of traffic just before a call came in stating the motorcycle crashed.

The driver, identified as Ryan Lieb, died at the scene.

The sheriff’s office believes Lieb was speeding and was passing a vehicle in the oncoming lane when he struck the side of a Ford Explorer that was making a turn. He was ejected from the motorcycle.

Officials do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
