Here’s how much each Michigan city, county made from adult-use marijuana sales in 2023

Michigan communities opted-in to adult-use marijuana sales were paid out their share of more than $87 million in revenue for 2023.

A total of 99 cities, 30 villages, 69 townships and 71 counties in Michigan were paid as part of the Marihuana Regulation Fund. For the state of Michigan’s 2023 fiscal year, this means each eligible municipality and county will receive more than $59,000 for every licensed retail store and microbusiness located within its jurisdiction.

Revenue was collected from 737 licensees among the state’s cities, villages and townships during the 2023 fiscal year. Some of these municipalities host more than one licensed retail store and microbusiness.

Fifth Florida man charged with 12 felonies in violent Shelby Township kidnapping

A 29-year-old man from Florida was extradited to Michigan in connection with a carjacking outside a Lifetime Fitness in Shelby Township.

Xavier Gardner was charged with 12 felonies, including carjacking, armed robbery, torture, first-degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, felony firearm and more.

The charges stem from the alleged abduction of a 24-year-old man on Oct. 23. Police said he was taken by six armed men wearing ski masks from the Lifetime Fitness on Lakeside Boulevard parking lot. The victim was reportedly tied him up in his own truck and tortured before the men went to the victim’s house.

Driver arrested after police chase exceeding 100 mph in Metro Detroit

The driver who was exceeding speeds of 100 mph during a police chase along in Metro Detroit has been arrested.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (March 5) at 1:45 a.m. as police tried to initiate a traffic stop on Woodward Avenue.

Officials say the driver engaged in evasive maneuvers, disregarding multiple red traffic signals before being intercepted in Pleasant Ridge.
